The movie Three Kings tells the story of three soldiers in the aftermath of the Gulf War. Troy  Barlow (Mark "Marky Mark" Wahlberg), Archie Gates (George Clooney), and Chief Elgin (Ice Cube) go on a quest for gold when the discover a hidden map.  The three soldiers went on a secret mission to a village in search of Kuwait gold. Complication arises when they decide to free a group of Iraqi rebel prisoners, as well as taking the gold. Troy Barlow was kidnapped and forced to drink oil. Ultimately, Archie Gates and Chief Elgin found him and saved him. The three soldiers then went on to lead the rebels across the Iranian/Iraqi boarder where they were then arrested by the American army. Ultimately, the search for Kuwait gold was unsuccessful because they had to return it. However, they did a good deed in freeing the Iraqi prisoners. Best cast ever.

The conflicts surrounding Iran, Iraq, and Kuwait greatly involved oil and religion. Iran and Iraq initially began conflicting due to fear of the war reaching Iraq. This was feared due to religious differences. George Bush Sr. (at the time president of USA and supporter of Iraq) joined 30 countries together in attempt to free Kuwait. Iraq invaded Kuwait in want of their oil wealth, Saddem Hussein wanted the money that oil brings. The Kuwait and the Gulf Wars largely depended on religion. Those wars may not have been about oil, but oil wells were exploded; leaving a destructive trail. As a result of the blown up oil wells, oil was not exported. Ultimately, oil and religion played a significant role in said Middle East conflicts.

The outcome of the four Arab-Israeli wars contributed to establishing Israel. Britain and France held great influence in the Middle East. Egypt formed an alliance with the Soviet Union. Gamal Nasser nationalized the Suez Canal,  which brought great changes regarding the influence in the region. The change of influence to America and the Soviet Union. France and Britain made an agreement with the Israelis to make the first move, providing the Jewish people access to the canal. America retaliated and  threatened to cut off  their oil supply. So naturally France and Britain backed out. Israel attacked Egypt with bomb raids on their air fields, commencing the Six Days War.  Israel then continued to capture Golden Heights, West Bank, and the Sinai Peninsula. Ultimately, they agreed to return the land. But, only if peace was was the ending fator. Even though this war was a quick six days, it held the greatest responsibility towards the Israelis and Egyptians signing a peace treaty at the Camp David Accords.

The Ottoman Empire dispersing in 1916 ended with the French and British dividing up the territories of the Middle East into mandates. After World War I, it was apparent that the British were the ones making things worse in the Middle East.  The British promised a homeland for the Jewish people (Balfour declaration) and promised Arabs independence in the region. These contradictory promises made things worse. Large amounts of Jewish people fled to Palestine in 1918 because of Hitler's rising power and the anti-Semitic ways he was pushing. Due to their religion, the Jewish people were not kept in Palestine. Because of this,  the Arab-Israeli conflict started.  Unfortunately, it is still present today. Ultimately, Britain played a large role in the conflicts in the Middle East while France did not.
